Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra)-- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, along with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan Al Muraikhi, held an expanded dialogue session with Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed ways to enhance regional and international security and stability, with a primary focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the need to adhere to the ceasefire agreement, fully implement its provisions, and ensure the delivery of sufficient and sustained humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
The ministers also reviewed ongoing efforts to advance the peace plan launched by U.S. President Donald Trump, underscoring the importance of moving toward a clear political horizon that realizes an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.
Discussions further addressed developments in the occupied West Bank, where the ministers emphasized the need to halt Israel’s illegal unilateral measures and violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, warning that such actions risk further escalation and undermine all de-escalation efforts.
The ministers commended Slovenia’s positions in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and its recognition of the State of Palestine on the basis of the two-state solution.
The meeting also covered broader regional developments and ways to reduce tensions through negotiation and dialogue, in addition to discussing ongoing efforts to resolve the Russia–Ukraine crisis.
